Hosting and server logs

Robot Vacuum Test is a static Astro site deployed with Dokploy on self-managed Hetzner infrastructure. Dokploy is operated on that infrastructure and is not a separate cloud analytics service.

When a page is requested, the hosting stack may process the IP address, requested URL, date and time, user agent, referrer and technical status information. This is necessary to deliver the site, protect the infrastructure and investigate technical errors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Server logs are used for security and operations, not for advertising or profiling. They are rotated and deleted according to the log-retention settings of the Hetzner and Dokploy setup.

The site bundles a local prefetch script (instant.page) that may preconnect to link targets when you hover over them. It is served from our own infrastructure, stores nothing and sends no data to third parties.

Self-hosted Rybbit analytics

Rybbit analytics is currently deactivated on the public site: no Rybbit script is loaded and no analytics data is collected while this page stays in this state. The setup below documents the intended configuration for when tracking is re-enabled.

The intended setup uses Rybbit for aggregated website analytics, self-hosted on our Hetzner infrastructure, with no analytics data sent to Rybbit’s hosted cloud service:

  • no analytics cookies or local storage;
  • page URL, page title, referrer and query or UTM parameters;
  • entry page, exit page and session duration;
  • browser, operating system, screen resolution and device type;
  • country and region derived temporarily from the visitor’s IP address, without storing the full IP address;
  • anonymous session and user identifiers that are not used to track people across different websites.

The previously shipped Rybbit script stored a persistent visitor identifier in browser local storage, which is not covered by the statement above and is not compliant with this policy. That script has been removed. Re-enabling analytics requires either a configuration without local storage, or an explicit consent mechanism, and an update of this page and the cookie policy.

Custom events are collected only where the site explicitly configures them. The Rybbit setting that stores full visitor IP addresses must remain disabled. If tracking is re-enabled, this policy and the consent setup must be updated before the change goes live.

Contact messages

If you contact us by e-mail, we process your contact details and message to answer your request, handle corrections or respond to press and business enquiries. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and, where the request concerns a contract or a pre-contractual measure, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR.

We keep correspondence only as long as necessary to handle the request and any resulting legal or contractual obligations.

When you click an affiliate link, you leave this site and visit the retailer’s website. The retailer may set its own cookies and process data under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your identity from an affiliate click. See the affiliate disclosure.

Recipients and data transfers

The hosting and analytics infrastructure is self-managed on Hetzner. Dokploy and Rybbit run on that infrastructure. No Rybbit analytics data is sent to a Rybbit cloud account.

After you follow an external retailer link, the retailer becomes responsible for its own processing. Check that retailer’s privacy policy before completing a purchase.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you may have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.

To exercise your rights, contact christian@derhuber.com. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority.

Changes

We will update this policy when the technical setup or the processing purposes change. Last updated: 18 August 2026.
